Specifications include, but are not limited to: A.The PIC shall develop a Public Information Plan using the attached VTrans Public Outreach Plan template within 10 days of being assigned a project. The purpose of this plan is to keep the public and stakeholders informed as the project progresses. Effective public awareness strategies have included direct mailings to abutters and businesses, paid advertisements in local and regional media, project websites, other forms of social media, and public meetings. Coordination with State and local municipal officials and posting at Town Halls can also be elements of an effective public information strategy. The public information component should begin during the design phase. Stakeholders that shall be considered in the public information plan include, but are not limited to, the general public, local municipalities, regional planning commissions, emergency service providers, local businesses and associations, outdoor recreation organizations and groups, abutting property owners and local educational facilities. B.Develop and implement a strategy to assist the partners in communicating the purpose and need of the project to stakeholders and the general public using a variety of public engagement tools. C.Assist with development and execution of presentation to the Barre Stewardship Team at the Conceptual and Preliminary Design phase, and to VTFPR leadership at the final design phase. D.Coordinate with the Project Manager, Engineer, and/or construction contractor depending on the current phase of the project to stay up-to-date on project scopes, schedules, planned detour routes, construction activities, and any other activities that may affect the general public and stakeholders.
