Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1.Deploy and operate one or more automated monitoring buoys in Lake Carmi to directly monitor temperature, oxygen, and related water quality parameters in real time and at a high frequency of measurement, using highest achievable data quality indicators. Conduct this monitoring during annual preoperational, operational, and/or post-operational periods during calendar 2019 and 2020. 2.Deploy and operate an automated water quality sampling platform capable of capturing water for measurements of phosphorus and nitrogen, in relevant chemical forms as proposed by the applicant. This platform should be equipped with a meteorological station to measure wind speed, direction, relative humidity, air temperature, solar radiation and precipitation. 3.The Applicant should specify the frequency of these water quality samples, depths at which samples are to be collected, and propose a total count of water quality parameters, including quality assurance samples, to be supported by the project budget. This monitoring should be conducted during annual preoperational, operational, and/or post-operational periods during calendar 2019 and 2020. 4.As feasible, making appropriate displays from the buoys/platform data available in real time, online, is desired. 5.Collect cores in appropriate locations of lake and conduct experiments that document the rate of phosphorus release to overlying waters, or phosphorus loss to sediments, during pre-operational, operational, and post-operational periods of the Lake Carmi hypolimnetic aeration system.
