2.1.1. Contractor will consult with the Vermont Criminal Justice Council to manage and operate the entire food service requirements at the Vermont Police Academy in Pittsford, Vermont in accordance with the State and Federal regulations and in a manner acceptable to the Vermont Criminal Justice Council. 2.1.2. The purpose of the Food Service Contract will be to provide meals of top quality at the minimum practical cost per meal delivered to all students requiring said meals at or for the Academy. It is desired that food preparation occurs on-site at the Academy. 2.1.3. Contractor shall have on staff or subcontract with a certified nutritionist who is available to meet with the Executive Director or their designee to discuss unique nutritional needs for certain programs. 2.1.4. Contractor shall also provide beverage service each day that the Academy is open, which will include at a minimum: coffee, tea, hot cocoa, juice and milk. 2.1.5. Contractor is expected to include fruit and/or other healthy snack options for students in between regularly scheduled meals. 2.1.6. Contractor may be required to provide meals and/or beverages for training activities conducted offsite or outside the facility. This may include bag lunches and/or catered meals. 2.1.7. Contractor shall operate the Cafeteria each day of the year, the Academy is open, as well as some weekends and select holidays. The Executive Director or designee will notify the Contractor in advance when weekend service is required. The Executive Director or their designee must approve any scheduled shutdown days in advance.
