Prior to removal of the Trout Brook Reservoir Dam, FCNRCD and consultant(s) will collect on the ground data. This data collection will follow procedures outlined in the approved QAPP and is expected to include: Pre-removal temperature and dissolved oxygen data – some of this has already been performed previously by VT Fish and Wildlife, but we will aim to collect additional data prior to removal. The purpose of this task is to track changes to temperature and dissolved oxygen upstream of the impoundment area, in the impoundment area, and downstream of the dam before and after removal. It is expected that this will take place across 5 weeks between July 1 and August 31 in 2025 (pre-removal), and 2026 (post removal). 5 weeks of continuous measurement during a variety of conditions including low flow and high temperature will be targeted for monitoring. Additional spot measurements to cross check continuous probe data will be made during weekly field visits at all monitoring sites. (Necessary adjustments to exact locations may be made in the field based on conditions and will be recorded and reported following installation).
