A. Roads, Sidewalks and Curbs a. Establish and maintain erosion control measures and stabilized construction entrance before earthwork commences. b. Establish and maintain horizontal and vertical survey control staking and site layout. Engineer to provide AutoCAD file and initial control point coordinates. c. Attend a preconstruction meeting with the Owner, Engineer and Representatives of the City of Essex Junction to coordinate work schedules, permits, signage and inspection requirements with the City of Essex Junction Public Works Department. d. Strip topsoil and stockpile on site. Establish and maintain erosion control in conformance with the General Permit for Sediment and Erosion Control on a Low Risk Site. e. Perform earthwork cuts and fills to balance site to subgrade. Excess excavation disposal placed on site at a location directed by the Owner. Asphalt removed from the cul-de-sac area will be disposed of offsite. Gravel excavated from the cul-de-sac will be used for temporary haul roads and site stabilization. f. Construct road, curbs, curb cuts, and sidewalks in conformance with the plans and specifications. Note the plans require 4” of foam insulation on the road subgrade. g. Restore paved driveways and grass green belts for the abutting property owners disturbed by road or infrastructure construction. B. Water, Stormwater and Wastewater a. The Site Work Contractor’s limits of work for water, stormwater and wastewater are depicted on the site plans and details. The Site Work Contractors shall be responsible for all labor, materials and equipment for all work shown or implied on the plans and/or referenced in the specifications and permits and all incidentals to make the work complete. b. Furnish and install wet taps, valves, service taps, hydrant and appurtenances. Provide testing, disinfection and flushing in conformance with the plans, specifications, City of Essex Junction Public Works Standards and permit conditions. c. Construct and enlarge stormwater treatment gravel wetlands, fence and outfall in conformance with the plans. Excess excavation from the gravel wetland will be disposed of on site at a location identified by the Owner. d. Furnish and install sewer mains, manholes and services, including testing and flushing, in conformance with plans, specifications, City of Essex Junction Public Works Standards and permit conditions. e. Furnish and install stormwater lines, manholes, catch basins and service lines in conformance with plans, specifications. City of Essex Junction Public Works Standards and permit conditions.
