Specifications include, but are not limited to: The purpose of the Peer Workforce Development Initiative is to address the workforce needs of peer support workers who support individuals with mental health and other co-occurring conditions. It will be geared toward: • peers providing peer support services, • peers interested in developing the skills and knowledge necessary to provide peer support services, and • organizations and programs providing peer support services. The selected offeror will lead the Peer Workforce Development Initiative (PWDI) to: • contribute to the development of a well-trained, mentored and supervised peer support workforce that provides effective, robust peer support services to individuals with mental health and other co-occurring conditions statewide, and • begin to develop standards for the peer support workforce to create common expectations of the role and functions of peer support workers and the knowledge, competencies and skills required. ; i. Maintain a steering committee to work cooperatively with systems partners to guide the development and work of the PWDI.
