Specifications include, but are not limited to: 2.3.ENTRANCE MATS: Anderson Water Hog Classic or acceptable equal. 2.3.1.Performance: Entrance matting will reduce the amount of contaminants and particles entering the building by providing a scraping/wiping surface inside the entry door. High performance matting for purchase under proposed contract shall effectively help prevent soil, ice melt, snow, other particles and water from entering buildings beyond matted area; store particles and moisture for later removal; minimize tracking into building by storing particles and water below shoe level within the mat to prevent further transfer to building; must be easy to clean by vacuuming, extraction cleaning, wetdry vacuum or other standard cleaning method; provide a safe surface, preventing slip and fall accidents and mats shall not support microbial growth. 2.3.2.Construction: Backing Material: Rubber, exhibiting positive resilience, abrasion, wear and tensile qualities. Vinyl backing may not be acceptable; shall have raised rubber edging continuous with backing to hold water and contaminants within the mat; shall be available in flat and gripper backing types; gripper surface must extend for entire mat coverage area and shall be non-porous backing inhibiting mold/mildew growth. 2.3.3.Surface Material: shall be of durable permanent two-level construction to effectively remove soil and moisture and to trap and hold particles and moisture below the matting face surface. They shall be resistant to crushing and exhibit long life such as molded reinforced textile and shall be premium polypropylene or nylon durable textile face, weight of approximately 24 ounces per square yard, exhibiting qualities of quick drying, no fading or breakdown and anti-static. 2.3.4.Sizes: Matting length is most useful in ten to twelve-foot minimum lengths to trap particles and water at entrance. Available in a range of standard and custom sizes ranging from two foot to six-foot widths and three foot to sixty-foot lengths. 2.3.5.Colors: Shall be available in a variety of standard colors. 2.4. INTERIOR MATS: Tri Grip or acceptable equal. 2.4.1.Performance: High performance finishing mat for high traffic areas shall provide a good wiping surface, help with dust control and aid in spot, spill and soil control. Mats minimize slip, trip and fall hazards. Mat may be easily cleaned using a conventional vacuum or extraction cleaner. Mats shall not support microbial growth. 2.4.2.Construction: Backing Material: Molded rubber backing shall resist curling and cracking. It shall be available in flat, gripper or suction backing types and backing should be of solid, non-porous material. Surface Material: Shall be heavy duty anti-static tufted textile such as nylon providing durability and absorption. Olefin is not desirable. Face years shall be tight twisted filament and resistant to crushing and packing so particles filter into the mat rather than staying on top. Face weight approximately 18 ounces per square yard. 2.4.3.Sizes: Available in a range of standard and custom sizes ranging from two foot to four-foot widths and three foot to forty-foot lengths.
