Specifications include, but are not limited to: Shelby County Government is soliciting written proposals, on a competitive basis, from qualified Consultants to provide an evaluation on the potential to functionally consolidate certain functions of the Memphis Police Department and the Shelby County Sheriff's office. Scope of Work - General Duties1.Consultant will examine the feasibility of all current recommendations for functional consolidated law enforcement services and operations, and will validate or challenge thoserecommendations, as appropriate.2.Consultant will make site visits to all departments, jails and administrative operations of theMemphis Police Department and the Shelby County Sheriff's Office. These visits should include on-site observations, and interviews with management and law enforcement officers to determine and assess the feasibility, benefits, and challenges to the entities to cooperate in a consolidated effort. 3.Consultant will propose new recommendations for certain functional consolidated lawenforcement services and operations based on research conducted from site visits. 4.Based on Consultant's findings, Consultant will assist in developing appropriate mechanismsfor merger of specific functions and measuring the effectiveness of each
