Today the Town of Berlin issued a companion RFP for construction services to reconfigure and reconstruct Gateway Avenue (Berlin Mall Road). This includes roadway, utilities and stormwater. This reconstruction will take place between the entrance at VT Rt 62 to the current existing Walmart Parking lot. The road will be widened to meet the Town of Berlin standards for on-street parking, including curbing, sidewalks, green belts, street trees and street lighting. Utility infrastructure including a new gravel stormwater treatment wetland and municipal water and sewer facilities are also included in the scope. The Construction Manager will provide on site supervision through project completion. Construction Inspection: Perform competent and adequate inspection necessary for adherence to contract documents during the performance of the work. A proper inspection will identify noncompliance or deviations by the contractor from the contract documents, and work not in compliance with the applicable codes and regulations, or referenced standards; Total Construction Commissioning: Participate as necessary throughout the life of the project to assure that all construction elements and systems work individually and together as intended and required. This includes Water, Wastewater, Stormwater, and Road standards, to meet the New Town Center standards.
