This project involves dredging material from the College Street Basin and Perkins Pier basin, dewatering of sediment in the Maple Street parking lot adjacent to Perkins Pier, and off-site re-use and/or disposal of sediment. Sediment in the Project area will be managed as non-hazardous waste contaminated soil, once it has been dewatered. Specific management requirements for contaminated soil are included in a site-specific Soil Management Plan. Dewatering and Staging Areas a. The opening and use of off-site waste, borrow, and staging areasshall follow the provisions of Section 105.25 of the VTrans Standard Specifications for Construction, 2024 Edition. b. The Contractor and/or property owner shall obtain all necessary permits and clearances prior to using offsite waste, borrow, or staging areas, including those included in the site-specific Soil Management Plan. In addition, all off site waste, borrow, and staging areas must be reviewed and approved by the City Project Manager prior to use. Application should be made at least 21 calendar days prior to planned utilization.
