Specifications include, but are not limited to: 2.1.All work performed will be scheduled by the State Contract Coordinator or the State District Facility Manager. Work shall be performed Monday through Friday during normal working hours. On occasion work, may be required after normal working hours, weekends or State observed holidays. Normal working hours are defined as Monday through Friday, 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. 2.2. The Contractor will be required to provide all labor, material, and equipment including but not limited to equipment, fuel, labor, and supervision necessary to provide the services as detailed in this solicitation. 2.3. Welcome Centers/Rest Areas: The contractor will be required to set up a safety sign at the entrance ramp and in accordance with State of Vermont Agency of Transportation standards. The rest areas will be open to public transportation during the lawn care services operation and the Contractor at times may not be able to perform their operations without disturbance from the public. The Contractor will need to wear a safety fluorescent vest, safety glasses and hard hat at all times when performing these services. 2.4. The Contractor will help maintain grounds. The Contractor can assume that ½ hour of clean up and site prep will be done with each mowing. Time specified will be for picking up miscellaneous trash, to filling ruts on the lawn area, to picking up limbs or branches, etc. 2.5. The lawns are to be kept looking neat and professional. Mowing limits are from the building to the outside of the lawn area. Finished height after mowing shall be between 2” and 2 ½”. The lawns do not need to be raked during a normal mowing, but if the Contractor is creating wind rows then the Contractor shall rake at their own costs. Ledges or stone outcrops are also to be mowed and weed whacked every mowing. 2.6. Brush Hog: These areas are to be mowed at 6” height two times a year, June 1 and August 1. 2.7. Wildflowers are maintained by AOT. No work will be needed in these areas. This includes all garden areas with flowers or plants, wetlands and woods. 2.8. The Contractor is to do weed trimming every time the lawn is mowed. If there is curbing between the parking area and the lawn area, weed trimming needs to be done between pavement and curbing as well as lawn and curbing. 2.9. The Contractor is to clean all walkways and paved areas by raking, sweeping, or blowing off all trimmings and debris at the end of each mowing. 2.10. The Contractor is responsible to mow or weed trimming in a manner that doesn’t put pedestrians, vehicles, personal, or state property at risk of injury or damage.
