FCNRCD has previously submitted this project for preliminary review to the Vermont Division of Historic Preservation (VDHP), which determined that the potential project area will likely be archaeologically sensitive and requires an Archaeological Resources Assessment (ARA). Expected tasks for these assessments include background research, field work, mapping, and report writing. The tasks the consultant will be involved with are expected to take place between August 2025 and January 2026. for final design to be completed in February 2026. Involvement with reporting and permitting needs may extend further into 2026. Task I: Initial Site Visit The consultant will participate in an initial site visit with the FCNRCD to the project site to discuss data collection needs and adjust timelines as needed. Task II: Research & Data Collection The consultant will conduct background and field research and data collection necessary for an ARA for the area of potential affect, as determined by the initial site visit. This research will require fieldwork at the project site as well as review of historical documents and outreach to stakeholders and individuals knowledgeable about the site and its history. Task III: Reporting The consultant will complete a report of their findings and recommendations and will present the report to FCNRCD and other relevant consultants and stakeholders. This report will also be submitted to the State for review and determination if additional work is needed. FCNRCD understands that if additional tasks are required by the State, those tasks will likely require additional funding from FCNRCD to the selected consultant. Task IV: Permitting The consultant will advise FCNRCD and FEA on any design and permitting requirements relevant to historic preservation and assist with reporting and permit applications as relevant.
