Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Dead Creek Maintenance Shop project for Department of Fish and Wildlife at 966 Route 17 West in Addison, Vermont. This project consists of, but is not limited to: The Dead Creek Wildlife Management Area (DCWMA) in Addison had an existing 4100 SF equipment maintenance building that was determined structurally unsafe and subsequently removed in 2019. The need is to replace the original building with a smaller, more efficient code compliant structure in order to properly support the maintenance and operations of the wildlife management area The replacement project proposed is for a 48’w x 66’l (3168 SF) equipment storage area with a 24’w x 30’l (720 SF) heated workshop area, for an approximate new building total of 3900 SF. The preliminary replacement design was for a wood framed, wood truss clear span structure with metal panel siding and metal panel roofing. Architectural, structural, civil engineer drawings and specifications of the wood frame option are available for review. It should be noted that we prefer a steel framed, prefab-structure. Design requirement highlights included: • Locate the new building adjacent to existing headquarter building for security monitoring. Reuse/upgrade to current code requirements the existing utility infrastructure. Reuse/upgrade the existing site drainage system. Orient building openings east/west - predominant winds usually from north/south. South sloping main roof for future solar photovoltaic panel orientation. Maintain adequate clearance access for larger trailer and equipment turning radius allowances. • Allow for convenient access to DCWMA seasonal equipment needs: summer mowing equipment; boating equipment; winter plowing equipment; snowmobiles/ATV; road maintenance equipment. Five (5) overhead garage doors. Six (6) active equipment bays (approx. 16’ x 22’). 2 longer term equipment and storage bays. 1 heated bay (approx. 16’ x 24’) for winter plow maintenance, tool storage and tool security. All overhead garage doors located on gable end walls to prevent ice and snow accumulations from roof runoff. Reuse/replace existing steel frame gantry hoist for equipment maintenance. • Separate heated (heat pump) wood working workshop (approx. 24’ x 30’) and tool area. Fire separation and safety. Woodshop equipment work areas to meet safety clearance work zone standards. • Exceed minimum energy efficiency code requirements in the buildings heated area.
