Several roads, predominately River Road and Pleasant Valley Road, are in need of postwinter pavement repair. Typically, these damaged areas present as badly traveled or potholed pavement near the edge of the roadway in consolidated areas varying in size from 30 to 2400 sf and generally less than 8’ wide. It is estimated that the total area under discussion is approximately 6,700 sf but may vary depending upon actual measurements of completed repairs as directed by the Underhill Highway Supervisor. The desired solution is what may be called “mill and fill”, wherein a small, sometimes Bobcat-mounted cold planer is used to remove a prescribed depth of pavement and then an equal depth of Type 3 bituminous concrete pavement is laid to replace it, following the application of an emulsion tack coat. In the case of this Underhill project, a 2” mill depth is being specified
