Option 1 – Reclaim and pave entire segment • Cold plane 8” of existing pavement and haul milled material away to a location of Contractor’s choosing • Reclaim full depth of remaining pavement, ensuring penetration into existing subbase • Grade and compact • Haul and spread 4” of plant mix gravel (VTrans spec 704.05A - Fine) • Grade and compact • Place 2.5” of Type 2 bituminous concrete and 1.5” of Type 3 bituminous concrete • Apply milled material to shoulders * • Paint centerline and edge lines Option 2 – partial reclaim – partial cold plane • Reclaim as described above from #144 to Harvey Road intersection (3600 lf) • From Harvey Road intersection to #253 (1900 lf) o Cold plane 4” of existing pavement and haul milled material away to a location of Contractor’s choosing o Apply uniform tack coat o Place 2” of Type 3 bituminous concrete o Apply milled material to shoulders * o Paint centerline and edge lines Option 3 – Cold plane entire segment • Cold plane and pave as described in Option 2 from #144 to #253, including shoulders and lines
