Project Description/Base Bid: Remodel the existing kitchen / patient service space to accommodate updated service line. This only includes phase 4 work. Existing equipment to be disconnected and removed. Install new kitchen equipment & modify layout. See the attached drawings, specifications, & phasing plan.

Project Risks: The existing facility (Bldg. 522) will be operational and occupied during the design and construction. Therefore, ensuring infection control, cleanliness, noise control, and patient safety in an active hospital is critical to the success of the project. Advance notice and P.A.C.E. plan coordination with staff for utility shutdowns, site access, and field investigation will be required. Additionally, the existing conditions and complex infrastructure can vary from the as-built records.

Special Constraints: Contractor must meet the minimum mandatory requirements and complete checklist (shown on attachment). The existing facility (Bldg. 522) will be operational and occupied during the construction. Therefore, ensuring infection control and patient safety in an active hospital is critical to the success of the project (i.e. use of HEPA carts required while investigating above ceilings of sensitive areas). Advance notice and PACE plan coordination with staff for utility shutdowns, site access, and field investigation will be required. Additionally, the existing conditions and complex infrastructure can vary from the as-built records.
