Specifications include, but are not limited to: The mission of the Utah State Juvenile Court is to effectively supervise youth under court jurisdiction,provide quality services for the positive development of children and families, and maintain accurate records. In an effort to effectively supervise youth and provide quality services the juvenile court judge and probation office must be able to identify obstacles that stand in the way of positive development.Sometime these obstacles are mental health issues. Unfortunately, there are families who cannot afford mental health services, or who are not aware of the mental health needs of their children. In an effort to help probation officers create customized sentencing recommendations and provide effective supervision, the Sixth District Juvenile Court has set aside funding to help pay for mental health services for youth under the jurisdiction of the juvenile court. It is anticipated that these court fundedmental health services will be delivered in a professional manner, and will benefit the youth, their families, and the juvenile court.
