Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Perform testing on the following major materials: a. Aggregate base and subbase material. b. Bituminous paving material. c. Lean Mix Concrete (LMC) pavement. d. Portland Cement Concrete (PCC) pavement. e. Cast in place concrete and masonry. 2. Become familiar and knowledgeable of the plans and specifications of construction projects assigned to it for inspection and testing services and ensure that the work complies with the requirements of the Agreement and Task Order for each project during construction. 3. Perform all work in accordance with the appropriate ASTM and AASHTO designations as required by the construction documents (“Construction Documents”) for each Construction Project as requested by SLCDA. 4. Perform the following work, as it relates to subbase and base course material, as required: a. ASTM D698 – Laboratory Compaction Characteristics of Soil Using Standard Effort (Standard Proctor). b. ASTM D1557 - Laboratory Compaction Characteristics of Soil Using Modified Effort (Modified Proctor). c. ASTM C117 – Materials Finer than 75-m (No. 200) Sieve in Mineral Aggregates by Washing. d. ASTM C136 - Sieve Analysis of Fine and Coarse Aggregates. e. ASTM D4318 – Liquid Limit, Plastic Limit, and Plasticity Index of Soils (Atterberg Limits). f. ASTM D6938 – In-Place Density and Water Content of Soil and SoilAggregate by Nuclear Methods (Shallow Depth). g. ASTM D1556 – Density and Unit Weight of Soil in Place by Sand-Cone Method. h. ASTM D1883 – CBR (California Bearing Ratio) of Laboratory Compacted Soils. i. ASTM D7928 – Particle-Size Analysis of Soils (Hydrometer Method). j. Other tests as required by the Construction Documents when requested by the SLCDA.
