Specifications include, but are not limited to:. Herbicide Rate: Garlon 3A is to be applied at the highest label allowed application rates. The contractor is responsible for supplying all herbicide, surfactant, and water. Due to the unknown water level of the lake and the fact that Garlon 3A is not aquatic labeled, a Visual buffer of the edge of the water (in accordance with the label) to avoid contamination is expected.
Project Area: This project is all on BLM lands but it is near private property. The pilot, to assure that no chemical drifts on to the private land, will place a buffer on the application.
GPS Technology: The aircraft must be equipped with a global positioning system that is used to establish and show flight lines for 100% coverage.
Application Dates: Chemical needs to be applied on or before October 3rd
Timing: The contractor will be expected to begin spraying by 7:00 a.m. to avoid windy conditions and minimize drift. The government reserves the right to postpone the operation if wind speed exceeds 10 miles per hour.
Government Assistance: The government will help the contractor locate a nearby water source if necessary. The contractor will be responsible for providing necessary equipment and personnel to load and mix herbicide.
