Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City currently has a 24 feet long by 8 feet wide float. The designer/builder will have a $14,000 budget to accomplish the design and building of the float. All designs must be submitted to scale and in full color for approval. The float theme for the year is “The Future is Bright”. Ideas that we would like to be incorporated into the float are the following: A large willow tree prominently in the front of the float (tree of life) A mountain with trails in the rear of the float Figures doing activities up and down mountain. For example hikers going up as bikers are going down or horses, paragliders, etc. A sun rising over the top of the mountain Please provide references and photos of recent floats you have designed and built as part of your proposal. The chosen company will receive three payments. First payment of $7,000 paid on award of the float request for proposal. The second payment of $5,000 will be paid upon the float’s timely delivery to Provo City. The final payment of $2,000 will be paid at the successful completion of the 2020 parade season. The completed float must be delivered to Provo City before 3:30 P.M (MST Time) on May 30, 2020. The designer/builder will be responsible for all maintenance, upkeep and repairs to their float design thru the third week of August 2020, which is the end of the parade season. The successful vendor for the 2020 parade float season will receive the details of where to pick up the float base. Provo City will store the float and operate the float through the parade season. If repairs need to be made, the vendor will perform work on the float at their own location. Every effort must be made by the vendor to perform this work between scheduled parade events.. For each parade that is missed due to the fault or negligence of Designer, its employees, agents or volunteers, the City will deduct $500.00 per parade missed, which will be taken from the second and/or third payment to the designer.
