Specifications include, but are not limited to: Media training:
Train the executive director and JPEC chairperson (or designee) to speak on behalf of JPEC.
Support and guide JPEC’s work with Utah media contacts to educate voters through interviews, written pieces, and other outreach about judicial performance evaluation. Focus on statewide media and on smaller regional Utah markets, including print, radio, and television.
Crisis communication, if needed:
Support and guide JPEC’s work with Utah media contacts to respond to concerns about a particular judge(s) facing retention election in November.
In past years, JPEC has engaged in activities such as: meetings with editorial boards, op-ed pieces written by commissioners, tv and radio interviews, meetings with community councils.
