Specifications include, but are not limited to: The purpose of this RFI is to gather information on various products currently available which can meet or surpass the specifications of Utah Code Section 67-5-36 (effective May 12, 2020) in rendering controlled substances both non-retrievable and environmentally friendly as those terms are defined in the bill. In response to this RFI, prospective vendors should provide the following information: Demonstrated success converting an active controlled substance into a non-psychoactive, non-hazardous state which can be safely and readily disposed in a landfill as household waste without any actual or potential adverse environmental effect. Peer-reviewed publications which confirm the effectiveness of the product in rendering a controlled substance both non-retrievable and environmentally friendly. Information on product performance as to duration of conversion from active, usable state to non-retrievable, unusable state. Information and documentation verifying the absence of short-term or long-term environmental impact of the product after use to render controlled substance non-retrievable. Documentation on materials safety including safety data sheet (SDS), material safety data sheet (MSDS), or product safety data sheet (PSDS).
