Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Operating the City’s Facility, including all necessary buildings, structures, grounds, spaces and equipment, utilities, and maintenance to the facility that may be necessary to receive, maintain, care for and provide for the appropriate disposition of all domestic animals that come within the legal Animal Control authority and responsibility of the City. 2. All necessary animal‐related services provided by the City, including: enforcing animal‐ related City ordinances; investigating complaints of animal cruelty, abuse, and neglect within the City; receiving calls and complaints; providing lost and found services; adoption services; public reception and assistance; collection and sales; animal care and maintenance; and humane education programs. 3. Providing shelter for lost and abandoned pets, including: receiving and evaluating animals, feeding, providing water and food, emergency medical attention, health and condition evaluations, administering preventative medicine, clean kennels and cages, cleaning and disinfecting animal spaces, providing shelter for animals, providing necessary grooming, flea and tick control, rodent control, providing euthanasia when deemed necessary, animal body storage and removal, and animal exercise. 4. Spay and neuter of animals as deemed necessary. 5. Providing humane euthanasia for pets in the City at the request of pet owners. 6. Responding to emergencies involving injured or aggressive animals. 7. Proper accounting for all animals handled by Animal Control officer(s) or other City staff; maintaining records for euthanasia materials and other drugs or medicines; building security; and ensuring building compliance with all applicable laws and regulations to handling medicines and hazardous materials relating to Facility operations.
