Cut and Pile Services on 230 acres in Summit County . The Contractor shall supply all labor equipment, supervision, transportation, supplies, and incidentals to perform all work as set forth in these specifications. The contract is designed to meet the specific needs of the landowner, FFSL, and Summit County. The Contractor must supply: For tree cutting: Chainsaw crew of at least 5. All necessary equipment, for chainsaw maintenance, and proper personnel protective equipment (PPE). 4-wheel drive vehicles and all equipment with abilities to access the project site. And be on the Rangeland Prequalification List. Only areas identified on the Project Map will be treated. FFSL project manager will communicate unit boundaries for the work executed under this scope of work. The Contractor will provide service(s) using the following procedures and/or methodology: Cutting down all dead standing trees with in the possibilities of the crews. Cutting and bucking into burn piles. Dead and downed debris, where in excess and not rotting into the ground, will be bucked up and stacked into burn piles. Contractor will use their experience to determine the best size and location for burn piles. Naturally fallen trees will be cut and made to be in full contact with the ground to promote quicker decay. Live standing conifers inside of aspen stands will be removed to encourage aspen growth. Specifications will be determined on site by FFSL personnel and contractor. Heavy conifer forests will be thinned of some live standing conifers creating space and encouraging growth. Tree species diversity will be a focus while thinning the conifer forests. Specifications will be determined on site by FFSL personnel and contractor. Live trees will be limbed up 5’ or 1/3 of the trees height if the tree is under 15’ tall removing ladder fuels. Ground cover creating ladder fuels will be removed. Stumps will be cut as flush to the ground as allowed.
