Specifications include, but are not limited to: Murray City, in coordination with the Utah Department of Transportation is proposing improvements to Vine Street from 1300 East and SR-152 (Van Winkle Expressway), in Murray City, Utah (approximately 1 mile). This section of Vine Street is currently partially a three-lane road and partially a two-lane road with occasional turn pockets and varying shoulder widths that accommodate parking and bicycle use and is bordered on the east by a four-lane section (Highland Drive). On the West, Vine Street is currently being designed as a consistent three-lane section with consistent parking and bike lanes. The Proposed Action will improve the existing facility to match the designed section to the west and provide a three-lane cross-section: one 11-foot lane in each direction with an 11-foot median/left-turn lane, a bike lane and parking on each side to accommodate bicycles and on-street parking, with a curb and gutter, and landscape strip (varies) with sidewalks (See Figure 2 - Typical Sections). The widening will occur both to the north and south. This will allow for continuous and consistent flow throughout the corridor and provide needed bicycle lanes and onstreet parking through this area. The project will also include installation of new roadway signage and pavement marking. The project will also include modifications to driveway accesses, pedestrian ramps, storm drain systems and utilities. Minor acquisition of narrow sliver takes of right-of-way from several adjacent properties may be necessary.
