Specifications include, but are not limited to: The contractor shall provide UDOT with meteorological services including, but not limited to, operational weather forecasts, travel weather information, and Road Weather Information Systems (RWIS) support. The contractor shall generate statewide weather forecasts tailored to the specifications of UDOT road maintenance through the guidance of the UDOT Weather Program Manager. The contractor must provide on-site meteorological support from the UDOT Traffic Operations Center (TOC - located at 2060 South 2760 West, Salt Lake City, Utah 84104) Weather Operations Room during required hours and remote support 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The contractor shall provide public-facing travel weather information products under the guidance of the Weather Program Manager. The contractor is required to participate in the FHWA Pathfinder project and collaborate with the Salt Lake City and Grand Junction National Weather Service (NWS) offices on a unified message to the public and media prior to and during high-impact travel weather events. The contractor is also expected to attend in-person meetings with the Salt Lake City National Weather Service office. The contractor shall provide siting analysis, deployment services, preventative maintenance, response maintenance, and lifecycle management for existing and future RWIS sites upon request. The contractor may be requested to represent UDOT at meetings or conferences upon the direction of the Weather Program Manager. Travel expenses will be reimbursed at the current State of Utah per diem rates.
