Specifications include, but are not limited to: BLADE Dimensions: Length: Blade shall be 48” long, (-0.06”, + 0.00” long.) Blade shall be 36” long, (-0.06”, + 0.00” long) Each blade edge shall consist of individual 12” steel segments encased in rubber with steel bushings that are able to conform to the road surface independent of other segments. Each 12” segment shall have a tungsten carbide inserts and braze in a milled groove. Punching shall be manufacturer standard to receive bolts gauged 2” from the top of the blade to center of hole. The centerline of the holes shall be in line ±0.03” of established horizontal centerline and 0.06” of established vertical centerline. The finished blade section shall be free of warpage and longitudinal deviation not to exceed 0.125” in either direction in a four-foot section. Identify each blade with the manufacturer’s identification stamp or marking. The finished sections shall have markings showing the front edge of the blade to avoid improper mounting. TUNGSTEN CARBIDE INSERTS High shock resistant grade tungsten carbide. Tungsten carbide shall be 89% by physical weight – 100% virgin materials. Hardness shall be 87.5 – 88.8 Rockwell A Transverse rupture strength shall be 351,000 – 428,000 psi. FINISHED PRODUCT Carbide tip points shall not exceed 1/32" between the highest and lowest point within any blade. Finished blade will receive a complete powder coat (black) process for rust prevention. Front face of blade will be identified for proper installation. Finished product will comply with standard blade manufacturing tolerances. Manufacturer's literature shall be furnished as required. Complete plow set-up will generally consist of a combination of (3) blade sections. Complete nut and bolt sets shall be provided with each plow blade and bumper. All blades must have rust prevention on all surfaces.
