Specifications include, but are not limited to: SYSTEM Blade segment must be isolated from the rest of the system with no metal-to-metal contact permitted. Each blade segment shall consist of individual 12” or less steel segments encased in reusable rubber with steel bushings that are able to conform to the road surface independent of other segments. Each blade segment must be able to be changed independently - Example one 12” section is damaged. Plow driver needs to be able to only change the 12” blade segment and not a full kit length. RUBBER COMPONENTS A must be reusable and not bonded to any portion of the system Rubber housing size: 1.625” X 4” X 11.875” with two holes to accommodate the steel spacers. Rubber bushing Size: .75” X 2.188” X 1.5” with a hole to accommodate the steel spacer. BLADE: STEEL SEGMENT: Size: 1.125” X 5.125” X 11.875” with holes to accommodate the rubber bushings Each steel segment shall have tungsten carbide inserts brazen in a milled groove with no visible gaps or voids, shims, or fillers. The finished blade section shall be free of warpage and longitudinal deviation not to exceed 0.0625” in either direction Identify each blade with the manufacturer’s identification stamp or marking. The finished sections shall have markings showing the front edge of the blade to avoid improper mounting. Cabide Tip points shall not exceed 1/32” between highest and lowest point with in any steel segment The finished wear section shall be free of warpage and longitudinal deviation not to exceed 0.03125” in either direction Identify each blade with the manufacturer’s identification stamp or marking. The finished sections shall have markings showing the front edge of the blade to avoid improper mounting. TUNGSTEN CARBIDE INSERTS: High shock resistant grade tungsten carbide. Tungsten carbide shall be 89% by physical weight – 100% virgin materials. Hardness shall be 87.5 – 88.8 Rockwell A Transverse rupture strength shall be 351,000 – 428,000 psi. FINISHED PRODUCT Finished steel components must have rust protection on all surfaces. This can be a complete powder coat (black) process for rust prevention. Finished product will comply with standard blade manufacturing tolerances. Manufacturer's literature shall be furnished as required. Kit Lengths: shall be 48" long, (-0.06", + 0.00" long.) or shall be 36" long, (-0.06", + 0.00" long) Complete plow setup will generally consist of a combination of (3) or (4) kits. Kit consists of all hardware and materials to mount the plow blade to the plow. (see price sheet) Complete nut and bolt sets shall be provided with each plow blade and bumper.
