Specifications include, but are not limited to: Measure performance of competencies of the Utah Educational Leadership
Standards or a subset of the standards.
b. Provide candidates specific feedback regarding their performance and allow for
multiple opportunities to demonstrate proficiency.
c. Provide reports for the USBE that support the Board’s responsibilities related to
school leadership preparation programs (i.e. passing rates preparation program,
candidates employer, etc.).
d. Have an assessment(s) that is/are “blind” scored by a group of calibrated scorers.
e. Have tasks that can be completed as part of the principal candidates’ coursework
or field work/internship experiences.
