1. Roadway Planning Assessments. Detailed below, these roadway planning assessments will create preliminary plans (conceptual layout showing approximate alignments and locations of proposed improvements) for safety and multi-modal improvements to the Mill Creek Drive corridor, Spanish Valley Drive, and the Spanish Trail Road. To effectively assess the roads for intersection efficiency and multi-modal safety, current and future deficiencies will be identified using road safety audits, relevant engineering studies, and other methods. The engineering studies will further evaluate the need for streetlights, high visibility crosswalks, pedestrian islands, “bulb outs”, and other trafficcalming methods, among other potential treatments to increase safety. They will also review projected traffic and use of intersections, as well as identify varying options to address identified challenges and deficiencies. In all roadway planning assessments, it will be important to review City and County recent events and relevant progress or changes that have happened since the UTMP’s publication. a.
