Specifications include, but are not limited to: Hauling of municipal solid waste from the Salt Lake Valley Transfer Station for disposal at the Salt Lake Valley Landfill, Monday through Friday (excluding New Year’s Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day). Saturdays are occasionally required (including the Saturdays after New Year’s Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day), or due to a “snow day”, with notice. Three-year average (2018 – 2020) tonnages are approximately 190,000 tons per year. Quantities are not guaranteed and are seasonal. Successful bidder must be able to accommodate volume changes and may utilized sub-contractors if they meet the same criteria required of the successful bidder. Walking floor trailers are the preferred method, but alternate options may be considered, if considered to be a viable option by the County. Truck/Trailer combinations will be required to have and maintain onboard scales to ensure vehicles are loaded properly in the Transfer Station tunnel. Accurate weights, for billing purposes, will be determined utilizing the Transfer Station outbound scale, or a scale at the Landfill. Hours of operation include 7:00 AM for loading at the Transfer Station and 6:30 PM final delivery cutoff at the Landfill. Saturday hours are generally 7:00 AM to early afternoon.
