Specifications include, but are not limited to: Salt Lake County, on behalf of Salt Lake County Health Department, plans to contract with a qualified firm to provide public relations and education services for the county’s vaccination programs. Specifically, Salt Lake County aims to encourage all residents of the County to receive a COVID-19 vaccination and to ensure that the COVID-19 vaccine is readily accessible to all residents. This will require a robust communications, education, and public relations campaign focused on 1) communicating the importance of getting vaccinated; 2) educating about the safety and efficacy of the COVID-19 vaccine; 3) notifying residents of where they can receive the vaccine, including at SLCo clinics and additional stand up clinics throughout the County; and 4) reaching diverse, underserved, and/or vulnerable populations with this messaging in language that is both accessible and inclusive. Additionally, the CDC has stated that flu vaccines are more important this year in order to help reduce the stress on our hospitals and care providers. The current efforts to provide 250,000 flu vaccinations during flu season will provide an opportunity to pilot a robust COVID vaccination campaign.
