Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Contractor will provide service(s) using the following procedures and/or methodology: Cutting of all species EXCLUDING aspen and Douglas fir over 2” caliper. All felled trees will be piled into piles at least 10ft (height) x 10ft (width) not to exceed 25ft (height) x 25ft (width), previously existing downed trees greater than 4” caliper and all cut woody material from within designated project areas will be piled with felled trees. Slash piles will be located at least 30 ft from dripline of nearest tree. Dispersed felling techniques will provide soil disturbance of the site down to 10” in depth throughout each forest stand within the entire project area. Excessive soil compaction by project activities will be avoided. Any new cross-country access locations must have pre-approved locations by FFSL project manager. Any new access trails must be rehabilitated at the conclusion of the project (water bars, etc.). Stump heights will be no greater than six (6) inches off the ground. The Contractor must supply: For tree cutting: Chainsaw crew of at least 3 sawyers, or mechanized feller buncher/ harvester type equipment or trackhoe mounted rotating head cutter. Experienced sawyers with technical felling ability/skills, chainsaws with ability to cut trees up to 30in DBH, all necessary equipment for chainsaw maintenance. Four (4) wheel drive vehicles and all equipment with abilities to access the project site. Equipment shall be washed with a high-pressure system before entering project lands. All soil and plant parts shall be removed to prevent the spread of noxious weeds in and out of the project area.
