Specifications include, but are not limited to: Work under this contract is located approximately 10 miles East of the town of Spanish Fork, UT (see Maps) in the Diamond Fork Recreation area. The total number of acres within the project area is 2,844 acres. The work location is shown on the general location and site maps. Elevations range from 5000 to 7000 feet within the project sites. Cutting: Lop and scatter 100% of live and/or dead pinyon/juniper trees that are less than 10” measured at each stem or stems where they meet the bole or boles nearest the root collar / stump of the tree within the project polygon boundaries. Trees shall be completely severed from the stump(s). Stump height should be less than 6 inches, and no live limbs shall be left on the stump cut. The main stem or bole of the tree will be cut into approximate 3-foot lengths and branches lopped from main stem or bole. Branch material should be cut close to the bole or main stem so the bole will contact the ground and the main stem or bole shall be cut into approximate 3-foot lengths. Live browse species shall not be cut, pilled or scattered on too or damaged. Established roads and trails shall be used whenever possible to minimize damage to patches of sagebrush and other browse plants. Trees identified as bearing trees, or any tree blazed or tagged to mark the line of any Government survey, shall not be cut, or destroyed under penalty of the law.
