Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Utah State Developmental Center (USDC) currently serves a resident population of individuals with disabilities who require assistance with daily activities in partnership with staff, families, and the community. The USDC also provides a variety of therapy services to the residents. Currently these therapy services are spread out across campus in various buildings. The proposed new facility will consolidate these therapy programs allowing for easier transition of residents and staff between sessions helping to streamline all services along with increasing direct clinician to clinician case communication, being more energy efficient and requiring less maintenance time. The therapy programs included in this proposed new facility are Physical Therapy, Hydro Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Life Skills Center, Recreation, Audiology, Speech, Autism Treatment, and Resident Medical Services. The site for this proposed new facility is to be in the center of the campus to enhance accessibility to the centralized therapy programs. Proposed facility is approximately 62,100 SF. Note that Autism Awareness Therapy has since been added (approximately 10,000 SF) There are currently three existing buildings that will require demolition prior to construction of the new facility.
