Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Utah State Office of Education (USOE) announces the availability of one-year federal grants for: (1) English for Speakers of Other Languages, Adult Basic Education, and High School Completion (2) English Language/Civics Education and (3) Prison/Institutionalized. Eligible agencies include local education agencies (school districts), community-based organizations of demonstrated effectiveness, volunteer literacy organizations of demonstrated effectiveness, institutions of higher education, public or private nonprofit agencies, libraries, public housing authorities, nonprofit institutions that have not previously been listed as having the ability to provide literacy services to adults and families, or a consortium of agencies.
