RECEIPT OF BIDS: Separate sealed BIDS or Electronic Submittal using BidnetDirect for the construction of Phase III Street Lighting Project will be received by Sam Kelly, City Engineer at the City of Orem, Engineering Division, 56 North State, Orem, UT 84057, or opened electronically on BidnetDirect until April 4, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. and then at said office publicly opened and read aloud. The preferred method for submitting a bid is by using BidnetDirect at bidnetdirect.com/utah/orem at orem.org/purchasing (On the right, select “City of Orem Sourcing Events” > select Open Solicitations > Register Now > register and find project). Bids submitted after this deadline will be rejected. Upon review, the business or individual best meeting the needs of the City will be contacted for further action.
BIDDING QUESTIONS - Use BidnetDirect to submit questions and download documents relating to bid items, specifications, and other technical questions. The project engineer is Kyra Wright (801) 229-7315. A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be located at 56 North State Street, Orem Ut, 84057, in the Development Services main conference room on March 22, 2023, at 2:00 p.m.
OBTAINING CONTRACT DOCUMENTS: The CONTRACT DOCUMENTS may be obtained March 14, 2023, on BidnetDirect under Phase III Street Lighting Project or at the City of Orem, Engineering Division, Development Services Offices, 56 North State Street, Orem, UT 84057. There is no fee from the City to obtain the documents on BidnetDirect. There will be a $20 non-refundable fee for a copy of the specifications. (An additional $5.00 service charge will be assessed if the specifications are to be mailed).
DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The WORK will consist of removing 79 existing street lights, connecting to 35 power poles with risers, and adding new connections to 18 existing junction boxes/transformers. WORK also includes installation of 82 new junction boxes, approximately 9140 feet of 1 inch conduit, and new City standard light poles and fixtures.
SITE OF WORK: The site of the WORK is located generally from 1200 West and 640 North to 1060 West and 570 North, 600 North and 70 West to 400 North and 250 East, 1950 South from Geneva Road to 800 West, 800 South from Geneva Road to 1420 West, and 950 West and 1250 North to 1200 North and 900 West in Orem, UT.
