Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Department of Human Services (DHS) operates the Nutrition Program for the Elderly also known as Meals on Wheels. Meals on Wheels is a national program that provides nutritious meals to clients aged 60 years and older at authorized congregate sites and to the residences of those who have health conditions that keep them primarily homebound. All information listed below is for the provision of hot meals according to the following schedule. Frozen meals may be requested by the Program Supervisor if the need arises. Please note that, while unlikely, the schedule is subject to change: • Monday - 77-92 hot meals • Tuesday – 77-92 hot meals • Wednesday – 77-92 hot meals • Thursday – 77-92 hot meals • Friday – 77-92 hot meals • Saturday and Sunday – 185-240 hot meals
