Specifications include, but are not limited to: provide Completion of admitting documents for applicants for residency at the Home. Performing the complete physical assessment and admission orders for individuals admitted to the Home. Conducting the initial comprehensive visit during which the Contractor completes a thorough assessment, develops a plan of care, and writes or verifies admitting orders. Overseeing all medical care for residents of the Home. Providing oversight to registered and licensed practical nurses in the Home. Conducting visits to the Home at least three times per week and ensuring time spent on sight is sufficient to accomplish the requisite duties and responsibilities of physician care in accordance with the professional standards of care as described herein. Being on call for emergencies 24 hours a day, seven days a week including holidays to provide medical services and/or consultation. Arranging for the coverage of the Home in any instance she or he is not available to cover the services described herein. Compensation for the substitute physician is the responsibility of the Contractor, not the Government. The substitute shall comply with all rules and regulations regarding the practice of medicine in the USVI. Being available to participate in scheduled family meetings on a quarterly basis. Providing to the nursing staff on a quarterly basis in service training on topics germane to the care of the elderly. Maintaining medical records including plans of care, medication orders, referrals, and any other pertinent information according to accepted professional standards. Ordering laboratory testing using ICD10 coding and documenting all orders. Completing death certificates and notifying family members of the passing of residents. Determining the Home's medication formulary. Arranging the use of the Emergency Room, ambulances, and other services needed and provided by the Juan Luis Hospital and Medical Center and other clinics or services needed. Preparing a complete annual assessment of the medical services provided to the residents and offering recommendations for improvement in services by November 1st of each year for the prior fiscal year. The report shall be provided to DHS Director of Residential Services. Performance of other duties as required for the welfare of the residents of the Home.
