Specifications include, but are not limited to: •Vendor will be required to transport Veterans from their place of residence to theVA Clinic, or medical facility of referral by the VA for the purpose of attendingVA medical appointments only•Vendor will provide wheelchair service for wheelchair patients•Vendor will provide stretcher service for bed-ridden patients•Roundtrip will be between the residence and the medical facility only•Vendor will schedule transportation only after being contacted by the V.I. Officeof Veterans Affairs•The Veteran or family of the Veteran will be responsible for providing a safe areafor the vendor vehicle to park while providing the service. Inclines must beassessed on a case-by-case basis to determine if the vendor’s equipment can besafely used•Vendor will be responsible for ensuring that drivers and assistants are dulylicensed on any equipment being used to include vehicles and specializedequipment based on medical condition•Vendor will be responsible for ensuring drivers and assistants are screenedthrough the appropriate authorities for criminal history and hiring themaccordingly.
