● Revisions for the CZM permit application content and checklist to include the quantification and consideration of slopes, vegetation types, impervious surfaces, driveway, runoff, erosion and sediment controls, sea level rise, onsite wastewater treatment system type and siting, and other factors to reduce impacts from current and future hazards. Draft language requires that consideration of all these factors be incorporated into the site plans and site plan reviews. ● Evaluation of different setback regulations and feasibility for the USVI based on the best available science and administrative feasibility. ● Summary, clarification, and recommendations regarding the requirements for impervious surfaces vs. open space coverage on lots within certain residential zones. ● Standardized application for different development permits within DPNR (specifically CZM, DEP, and Building Permits) so that earth change activities are managed consistently in both Tier 1 and Tier 2. ● Development of a coastal hazards worksheet to add to the CZM permit application to increase the extent to which consultants, contractors, and applicants are aware of and have considered hazard risks. ● Development of permit review guidelines and evaluation templates for agency staff based on the revised CZM permit considerations.
