To meet the analytical and compliance requirements outlined in Act 8680 and the Cannabis Rules and Regulations, the laboratory must include, at minimum, the following technical and facility components: Instrumentation and Analytical Equipment • High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) or Gas Chromatography– Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) for cannabinoid and terpene profiling and potency testing • Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS) for heavy metal analysis • Liquid Chromatography–Tandem Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) for pesticide residue testing • Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) and microbiological incubators for microbial and mycotoxin screening • Headspace Gas Chromatography – Flame Ionization Detector (GC-FID) for residual solvents • Moisture analyzers and water-activity meters • Sample homogenizers, centrifuges, and analytical balances • Secure sample retention and temperature-controlled storage
