Specifications include, but are not limited to: a. Therapeutic educational alternative with a school calendar aligned to the Virgin Islands Public School Calendar.; b. Individual attention for each referred student as their academic and behavioral progress is monitored.; c. Continuous progress monitoring of students in academic content areas to support skill acquisition and instructional planning.; d. Socio-recreational opportunities to promote appropriate socialization of students through structured activities within school and community.; e. The therapeutic day school manager shall collaborate with the IEP Team and the student’s home school, to facilitate re-entry into the school system when a student is ready to transition.; f. Related services to the students, including Adaptive Physical Education and Behavioral Management in accordance with their IEPs.; g. A program developed and conducted for in-service staff training to keep the staff professionally current.; h. Maintenance of adequate academic, financial, social, and psychological evaluation records on the students that are to be submitted to the Division of Special Education.; i. Continuous evaluation of the students, program, and submission of quarterly therapeutic progress reports and report cards to the Division of Special Education.; j. Regular client staffing sessions prior to the submission of any progress reports (therapeutic or academic).; k. Overall administration services at the facility.; l. Adequate and appropriate classroom and computer lab space in the facility. Student must have access to a library and computer lab.
