Specifications include, but are not limited to: Tasks The selected contractor shall provide the following: 1. The length of the contract will be from the date of award, approximately August 2023, for approximately 12 months until completion, approximately August 2024 2. Training Plan Details Proposal must include a detailed description of the training, the minimum and maximum number of participants per training session, the number of days per training, and the sequence of the training components. The proposed timeline must indicate a realistic plan for meeting all contract deliverables. Upon award, the contractor will have 30 days to submit a final work plan with any updated timeline details for VIDE approval. 3. Training must direct participants to implement early intervention practices to reduce school violence. This includes training as follows: • Up to 20 - Two-day sessions for up to 500 staff members of the district (sessions should be able to accommodate 25 persons per session). • Topics to include: o Communication methods (verbal and non-verbal) o Appropriate response to neutralize the immediate threat to ensure the safety of students and/or the school. o Correct use of physical intervention techniques. o Knowing when to intervene in a hostile situation. o How to engage an aggressive student. o Honing instinctual and flexibility skills • Provision of training handouts and reference materials. Deliverables The selected contractor must deliver to VIDE the following: • The contractor will create plan and scope of training on De-Escalation Techniques. • The contractor shall be responsible for all tasks and deliverables required to complete the project as described in the Scope of Work. It is anticipated that this shall include but not be limited to expectations below: • Vendors will coordinate and communicate with the district throughout the contractual period, identify who will be responsible for all activities required to fulfil said contract. • Provide final report summarizing the services rendered, training evaluation/feedback data and any recommendations to assist with the implementation of strategies discussed during the training. • Additionally, the contractor will work with the LEA Program Manager and the District Administration to identify the professional development modules tailored to the needs of the district. The selected contractor must deliver to VIDE the following resources: • Guidelines for de-escalation/diffusing disruptive behavior. • Guidelines for restraint and seclusion to include the use of and reporting of restraints in education entities. • Guidelines for school-based violence prevention.
