Specifications include, but are not limited to: The purpose of this Invitation for Bid (IFB) is to solicit bids from contractors qualified and experienced in the purchase and installation of industrial generators, as well as to obtain all required permits as required by the VI Department of Planning and Natural Resources and the Environmental Protection Agency purchase and installation, and assist the VIDE in approving the work. The campus referenced in this IFB is: Guy H. Benjamin Community Center located on the island of St. John. In general, the scope of work will include, but not limited to: 1. Mobilization of safety measures, construction signage and barriers. 2. Secure all necessary electrical permits. 3. Provide selective demolition as described on the Contract Drawings. 4. Furnish & install new 600V feeders (cables and duct banks) from VIWAPA transformer to ATS, generator to ATS, and from ATS to existing electrical equipment. 5. Furnish, transport, rig, install new diesel generator, and automatic transfer switch. 6. Furnish and install all grounding material and components. 7. Furnish and install all control wiring and conduit. 8. Provide testing of electrical equipment and provide support for Commissioning and Integrated System Testing. 9. Implement sediment and erosion control measures. 10. Clear the construction area as per contract documents. 11. Provide excavation and backfill for two (2) new equipment pads. 12. Provide excavation and controlled density fill for new electrical duct banks. 13. Form and construct concrete pads for generator and (1) Automatic Transfer Switch. 14. Provide special inspections as per contract drawings. 15. Provide cleanup and closeout documents. 16. Alternate Bid: Provide Electrical Acceptance Testing of Diesel Generator and Automatic Transfer Switch. The successful Contractor will be required to provide all labor, supervision, tools, equipment, and materials to execute the work.
