Specifications include, but are not limited to: This program requires the establishment and implementation of a Workforce Career and Education Outreach Specialist (referred to as Workforce Specialists in this RFA) Pilot Program by TWC. This program will provide career services to students at public middle and high schools, grades six (6) through twelve (12) in designated regions in Texas to direct those students toward High Growth High Demand Occupations experiencing existing or projected workforce shortages. This program will support the achievement of Texas’ goals outlined in the November 2016 Tri-Agency Report “Prosperity Requires Being Bold” which mandates alignment between education, workforce training, and industry demand, and the 2015-2030 Texas Higher Education Strategic Plan (called 60x30TX) that states that at least 60 percent of Texans ages 25-34 will have a certificate or degree by 2030; this program helps to ensure students get the exposure and awareness to career resources today that empower them to gain degree certifications, graduate with marketable skills, and minimize student debt in the future.
