The Texas State University System (“Owner”) and Texas State University are soliciting Competitive Sealed Proposals (“Proposals”) for selection of a General Contractor firm for the RF Mitte Building Space Reconfigurations project. The proposed reconfiguration of the Roy F. Mitte Engineering Building will occur within the existing footprint of the five-story structure on the San Marcos campus of Texas State University. Exterior construction will include the demolition and removal of existing concrete paving for the construction of a new 800 square foot masonry storage room addition, installation of new material aggregate bins, and overhead canopies. Most of the physical space renovations focus on the first floor with modifications to the Concrete Lab & Soils Lab. Third floor renovations include a renovated classroom for Physics, and renovations on the Fifth floor include AV upgrades to Classrooms, faculty office and lab upgrades. The physical space renovations will include demolition, saw-cutting slab for new plumbing, new drywall, doors & frames, painting, flooring, acoustical lay-in ceilings, new mechanical installation/modifications, and new plumbing, electrical, data & AV (see drawings and specifications for contract scope).
