Specifications include, but are not limited to: Reinforce the spatial definition of quadrangles, streets and paseos with landscape design. 2. Reinforce the room‐ like quality of quads with formal plantings. 3. Incorporate an informal, romantic landscape into open spaces that orient outward to views of the natural landscape. 4. Reinforce the linear nature of streets and paseos with paving patterns and allées of trees. 5. Restore tree cover in wooded areas where possible. 6. Incorporate planters into buildings to enliven facades, and incorporate vine covered trellises to shade pedestrian areas where appropriate. 7. Design landscapes that do not introduce security concerns, especially in wooded areas where hiking and bike trails are contemplated. 8. Follow dark sky lighting principles by avoiding upward‐ pointing light fixtures and excessive foot candle levels. 9. Incorporate benches into pedestrian streets and gathering places. 10. Screen water quality filtration basins with trees or design naturalistically as ponds to blend in with the landscape. 11. Retain existing intermittent streams in developed areas of campus and enhance with appropriate planting.
