Specifications include, but are not limited to: The District requires that the selected pre-manufactured (prefabricated and pre-engineered) storm shelter turnkey service vendor provide overall project management for planning and installation for storm shelters provided. All pre-manufactured storm shelters must meet ICC 500 standards and adhere to local AHJ requirements for occupancy. Work under this CSP will be per individual Assignment of Work (as needed). Each Assignment of Work will be developed, proposed and negotiated in support of a specific Scope of Work the District will provide to the awarded firm(s). Significant coordination will be consistently required. In order to assist in quality assurance, timely deliverables, and other related functions, coordination and cooperation with the Construction Services Team, General Construction Vendors, Principals, Program/Project Managers and other persons or vendors on site will be paramount. The selected firm(s) will be required to provide a “turnkey” service to the District by managing the complete process from design and permitting to site preparation, installation and site cleanup. Selected firm will be responsible for overseeing the process for requesting and acquiring permits with the local Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ). The selected form will also oversee the process for approval of occupancy IAW local AHJ procedures. General: Prefabricated and Pre-Engineered storm shelters must meet the most current ICC 500 design and performance standards, to include: 1. Resistance to loads from wind pressure 2. Windborne missile impact resistance on shelter’s walls and ceiling 3. Shelter’s access doors and frames 4. Ventilation 5. Emergency lighting 6. Accessibility Product data: 1. Shelters shall be pre-manufactured above ground shelters that meet design and occupancy standards established under ICC 500. 2. Shelters must be above ground with interior or exterior options available depending on Owner’s need. 3. Shelters must include a chemical toilet separated with hard partitions. 4. Shelters shall be ADA compliant.
