Specifications include, but are not limited to: Bastrop County is seeking to enter into a construction contract with a competent contractor to provide construction services for the repair of the Lower Elgin Road Bridge which was damaged by flooding in 2016 (DR-4272). The location of the bridge is in the 1100 Block of Lower Elgin Road (Latitude 30.22252 and Longitude -97.40952). The bridge is a single lane vehicular bridge comprised of a truss main span that spans between two primary bents with approaches on either side consisting of beams on secondary bents. The bridge deck is made up of wood planks placed tightly in a transverse configuration and additional wood planks longitudinally in the wheel paths. A rectangular metal tubing railing supported on channel posts extended the full length of the structure along both sides of the deck. Damage to the bridge includes hydraulic lifting of the bridge deck, decking planks are broken and/or missing, debris lodged in the planks as well as the support beam structure, damaged railings from fallen trees, damaged vertical bent on the south bridge approach, secondary bent damage on the north approach, damaged stem-wall abutment for the south approach and damaged bridge tension rods.
